Ryan Marino, MD, is a medical toxicologist, emergency physician, and addiction medicine specialist, and an associate professor in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland. He has played a prominent role in the fields of medical toxicology and addiction, and for leading U.S. health systems and the public at large he has advanced treatment of patients who use substances. Marino's academic and public-facing work has focused on advocacy, education, and advancing evidence-based standards of care for patients and clinicians alike. He is best known for his efforts to correct and dispel misinformation about drug-related topics, as well as about the people who use drugs.
